I’ve been back from the US for nearly a month, but I haven’t had time to post! So much to do in the fall.

Well, I brought back lots of lovely vintage wools and I’ve begun creating with them. My favorite is this copper underwing moth, made from an unfinished skirt that I bought for the beauty of the nubby wool. The underwings are in a luscious brown silk. Underwings are usually drab on top, to help them blend in with their surroundings. They have bright wings underneath, that they can flash at predators, I suppose to startle them, or to indicate that they are not good to eat. This one can be worn as a brooch, and hung by a cord in your home when you’re not wearing it!

I had a lot of fun making these, and have sold some already! I have to try and make one for myself too, this time.

I also got a new camera and I’m having so much fun photographing my new pieces (and re-photographing the old ones)! Camille has been a good sport and agreed to model.
