A customer recently ordered a cicada brooch from me, telling me how beautiful she thinks these insects are, and how excited she is that the 17-year cicadas are about to emerge in her part of the world. Some folks like cicadas and some don’t. There aren’t any here in the city where I live, but  I really enjoy making them. I guess I’m compensating, because I love them!  While making some for an upcoming show, I got the urge to put them in a little scene, for fun. Just a reminder to step out of the crowd once in a while!

If you have a friend who would enjoy this, please share!
