Net Winged Beetle Brooch Hand Embroidery Entomology Jewelry

“AN INORDINATE fondness for beetles.” A quote from J.B.S. Haldane, an early 20th century British biologist, alluding to the Creator and the over 350,000 catalogued species of beetle that He had created. There are more types of beetles than any other form of insect, and more insects than any other kind of animal.

Here is a beetle from the Lycidae family. This elongated beetle is widespread, living in many different regions. You may have seen them on flowers, stems and leaves in your own garden!

Product Description:
I've embroidered this specimen with cotton floss in saffron, cinnamon and brown plus a little copper metallic, onto vintage linen. This little beetle is encased in an oval gold tone metal frame with a brooch clasp on the back. Please note that the clasp runs lengthwise and is slightly to one side of the oval, rather than in the center.

Frame measures 2" x 1.5" (50 x 36 mm)

Not just for ladies, this glittering beetle pin will please any beetle enthusiast.

Another gem for your collection!
