Green Leaf Beetle brooch pin hand embroidered entomology jewelry

“AN INORDINATE fondness for beetles.”

A quote from J.B.S. Haldane, an early 20th century British biologist, alluding to the Creator and the over 350,000 catalogued species of beetle that He had created. There are more types of beetles than any other form of insect, and more insects than any other kind of animal.

Here is a beetle from the family Chrysomelidae, commonly known as leaf beetles. There are 35,000 species in this family, and that’s one big family!

Product Description:

I’ve hand embroidered this green specimen in several shades of green cotton floss on vintage linen, added seed bead eyes, and framed him in a gold tone metal brooch frame, which has a brooch clasp on the back, ready to pin to your lapel, your scarf, pullover, or bag.

Oval frame measures 2 x 1.25 inches (5 x 3.4 cm)

You'll receive ONE small leaf beetle embroidered brooch (photos 2-4). Photos 1 & 5 show the leaf beetle with other beetles from the collection.

The clasp runs the length of the oval, and is situated to the side rather than in the center, as seen in the photo.

Not just for ladies, this pin will please any beetle enthusiast.

Another gem for your collection!
